Lone Interview & Download

Here's another interview following Lone's album 'Ecstasy & Friends'.

Read the interview from the guys at http://www.back-and-forth.net/

"B&F: Where did your interest in music production begin?

Lone: Listening to bootleg rave tapes and the altern8 album. I could tell that stuff wasn’t created by live instruments or anything and was fascinated by what exactly it was made with. As I grew up, I started to find out how it was all done. I’m the sort of person that when i get interested in something I want to make my own version of it, so I think I was probably always going to end up doing this."

Make sure you have a look its a great read.

"I’d always play Andy some Autechre and Aphex Twin and stuff and he’d be like, “Yeah, it’s cool and everything, but let’s put on 36 Chambers again.” So, although I started to slip in as much of an electronica influence as I could, our main thing was Wu-Tang or DJ Premier or whatever–so I guess in our own naive way we were just trying to emulate that stuff… and getting it totally wrong, obviously."

Lukid - Foma. 'Top 30 Electronic Releases' by The Silent Ballet

Lukid's album Foma was picked by The Silent Ballet staff as number 18 in their 'Top 30 Electronic Releases of 2009'.

"With an assertive nod to hip hop, reggae, and loopy funk, Blair creates a record that is ass-shakingly nasty, yet all-too-blunted to give more energy than is necessary. So, it rides on an edgy path of being suitable for the dance club, but maybe just a touch mellow enough that this bass party is best thrown at home."
